Abstract

The ancient Indian concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning "the world is one family," as found in the Maha Upanishad, underscores global interconnectedness. Rooted in Vedic principles, it emphasizes a shared destiny and resonates with diverse spiritual traditions globally, such as ‘Mitakuye Onasin’ and ‘Ubuntu’. This universal and unifying principle advocates cooperation, evident in major world religions like Christianity's Golden Rule and Islam's Tawheed. In times of global threats, it urges transcending narrow boundaries for collective unity. India's historical belief in connectivity and solutions for the world's future, expressed in the mantra Sarve Bhavantu Sukhin, holds relevance today amid cultural shifts towards conflict.
