This review explores integrative approaches to diabetes management, emphasizing the role of yoga and naturopathy. It highlights evidence supporting yoga’s effectiveness in improving glycemic control, insulin sensitivity, and stress reduction. Naturopathy complements this by promoting lifestyle modifications, dietary regulation, and natural therapies. Together, these interventions address physical, mental, and emotional well-being, offering a holistic alternative or adjunct to conventional treatment. The review underscores the potential of these practices to enhance diabetes care and improve patients’ overall quality of life.
Aim of the study: To critically review and evaluate existing research on the effectiveness of yoga and naturopathy as integrative approaches in the management of diabetes, with a focus on their impact on glycemic control, lifestyle modification, and overall patient well-being.
Conclusion: Integrative approaches like yoga and naturopathy show promise as supportive strategies for managing diabetes. Practices such as asanas, pranayama, meditation, dietary changes, and hydrotherapy can help improve blood sugar control, insulin sensitivity, and overall well-being. While not replacements for conventional treatment, they may enhance adherence, reduce complications, and support lasting lifestyle changes. More research is needed to confirm their effectiveness and guide their use in diabetes care.
